Marijuana to treat back pain

I have been suffering from lower back pain for several years. My job consisted of heavy manual handling which has worsened my back pain. It took me an hour to get out of the bed every morning because of this agonizing pain. I was unable to dress properly. Even simple tasks like bending down and stretching seemed tedious for me.
I consulted a doctor and he prescribed me Diazepam tablets to relax the muscles. Also, I was asked to take painkillers and was sent to see a physiotherapist. He gave me exercises to do at home. But, all of them were not effective.
One of my friends asked me to try medical marijuana cannabis from Toronto as it was proven effective for him. He asked me to give it a try. Is this treatment effective? Will it have any side effects? Please give some genuine replies and suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Glad you’re on here reaching out for ideas! TBH, I would prob go for other things before the medical mary-j. I’d try acupuncture, chiropractor, or physical therapy first.. weed def has many more risks than those other services!

    Hey Neila!
My mom suffers from chronic back pain due to an old injury (broke her back many years ago and has had multiple surgeries). For many reasons, I’m not a fan of prescription pain medication to manage pain. It can be effective in the short term, but I believe the long term effects make it a really bad option for most people. After struggling for years to get off of prescription pain medication, my mom uses (pretty infrequently, and only at nighttime) marijuana to manage her pain. Although there are multiple pros and cons to weigh, and many people it probably wouldn’t work for, marijuana has been a great “back-pocket” pain management source for her. She chooses to only medicate at night because of how “lazy” it makes her- which can be a con for many people. If you are in a legal state, i would find a cannabis-friendly provider to help you weigh some of those pros and cons. I know there are also ways to medicate without getting “high” (creams, pills without THC, etc.). I hope this helps- chronic pain is SO difficult to deal with.

I have a severe back pain for almost 1 week now because I work home base so that’s why I am sitting for 9 hours a day. Then upon checking the internet, i saw this article that CBD oil can help me to ease my pain. And as i can see it really helps me a lot,i did not put too much oil on my back but after 2 days i feel ok and comfortable again. Maybe this thing will help you also.
