Check out this article on rapper Charles Hamilton. Charles discusses his struggle with his career and personal life as both seemed to collide. Though everything seemed to go well in the beginning of his career and things looked great on the outside, it was a lot different behind the scenes. Charles experienced the stress of the music industry and was dealing with an undiagnosed bipolar disorder. He found himself depressed and alone, as he separated his self from families and friends. His behavior became erratic and unpredictable.
Charles and his team are not afraid nor are they ashamed to share his story and I find that amazing. The music industry usually hides this type of struggle and honestly should share more stories like these. You never know who it’s going to help or who’s life it can potentially save. You are not alone.

This is so refreshing. So many people are scared to admit they have something going on physically, especially those in the spotlight. Charles Hamilton is awesome, such a cool thing to see. This type of honesty is great.
A lot of rappers are talking about mental health!! Kendrick Lamar just opened up in an interview about having depression and suicidal thoughts while making his newest album. These guys are starting the conversation in the music industry, so brave.
I wonder what made them realize that it’s okay to talk about this!
