One of the most beneficial skills I’ve learned to help me on my recovery path is gratitude. Being grateful for the little things, the things you have, and for everything that goes well during the day instead of always focusing on the negative can be so powerful. It completely changes your attitude. I want to start a thread that I think has the potential to go on and on as well as serve as a tool for everyone here. List three things you are grateful for today. I’ll start!
1. I woke up two hours before y alarm clock went off this morning and got to enjoy a slow, relaxing start to my day. It was nice listening to the birds chirping while I had my morning coffee.
2. I did really well on my ethics exam.
3. Thursdays are my Fridays because I don’t work or have class on Fridays. I get to go home after this shift, rest, and officially begin my weekend.
Bonus! (because it may seem silly but seriously the more you can find to feel grateful for the better off you’ll be):
4. I ordered a new computer and it’ll arrive in the mail tomorrow. Yey for having a fully functioning computer again!
