Who is Your Hero???

Many of us have had someone who we have looked up to at some point or another in our lives. Whether it be a professional athlete, a family member, or a close friend whose footsteps you’d like to follow after, I’d like to know who that person is and why. I’ll go first.

My hero would have to be my mother, because she has gone through so many thing throughout her lifetime and yet she is still standing strong. Yes, there may have been times where things got really bad, but even then she still managed to pull through to the other side. My mother is the most loyal and reliable person I have ever met on the face of this earth, I can tell her anything and she will never tell anyone else or judge me for it. She loves unconditionally, she has moved so far in her life and has so much to offer others. She is funny, intelligent, and humble. She loves to serve and she is everything I aspire to be one day.

What about you???

My hero is my grandmother. My grandmother is the strongest person I know. She has dealt with a lot of things with people in her life, and yet she still remains so positive and that is where I get my positive outlook from. She goes to church every single day.. and the amount of dedication she has amazes me. I want to be half the person she is and I will be happy.

    Torry,

I love that you are close with your grandmother and that she is your hero. Just a few days ago I can recall speaking with my mom about me wishing I had gotten a chance to be closer to my grandmother. I know she was a great woman who was gone too soon, and I would have definitely enjoyed getting to know her more. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

I think I think of my “hero” as my brother. Not necessarily because I want to be like him, but more so because he has always been there for me. And when I say we’ve gone through hell and back together, I mean it. Not only in the things we experienced together- but he also watched me be so angry and hurt and destructive- to myself, my friends and family, and him. And he’s never once left my side. Not even for a moment. Even when I’ve had nobody, hes always there. I love him and hope he knows it.

    Eliza,

I like that your definition of your own personal hero isn’t necessarily what everyone else’s is. We don’t always have to look at someone as a hero because we want to be like them, and I love that you stated your brother as an example of that, because he has been the only person there for you through thick and thin who has never left your side. Those people are very hard to find, I am glad you have him!
