The Project Assistant’s primary role is to maintain and help update the project’s website as a resource for young people in Connecticut who may be struggling. The Project Assistant also supports other project activities, including interacting with peers at occasional in-person events. The position collaborates with the Project Coordinator & the Social Media Assistant.
Responsibilities:
Maintain the website:
Check for new user submissions
Update the map and other content pages as requested, routinely test hyperlinks
For all new content, ensure links to other relevant areas of website, add keywords and search terms, manage readability, and ensure Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Coordinate with Social Media Assistant on dissemination of new content once posted.
Manage online advertising:
Create monthly ads within allowed budget, in coordination with Social Media Assistant.
Ensure budget is spent.
Track and report on performance of ads.
Create weekly post and assist in developing other new content such as videos or podcasts.
Participate in weekly team meetings to plan new content and awareness campaigns.
Represent the project and connect with peers at occasional campus and community events, such as Fresh Check Days and resource fairs.
Qualifications:
Strong personal advocate for mental health and substance use recovery
Excellent attention to detail
Facility with software and social media (prior experience with WordPress a plus) – no fear of technology
Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
Connecticut-based young adult with interest in supporting their peers in a worthwhile cause

The Social Media Assistant’s role is to increase the visibility of TurningPointCT.org on social media and to disseminate the project’s peer-developed content. The position works closely with the Project Coordinator and Project Assistant.
Responsibilities:
Schedule all posts on the project’s current platforms, using content, messages and hashtags identified by the project staff.
Follow and engage with other relevant accounts.
Monitor analytics and report on growth of followers, views, top posts, etc.
Grow social media followers within the target audience.
Participate in weekly team meetings to help plan new content and awareness campaigns.
Time permitting, create new posts or engage in other project activities such as podcast
Qualifications:
Knowledge / experience of social media marketing and communications
Excellent time management
Connecticut-based young adult with interest in supporting their peers in a worthwhile cause
Interest in mental health and wellness
Schedule: Five (5) hours per week, online, $15/hour
