Unexpected Changes In Life

One thing I think everyone shares is how growth and change can be uncomfortable. Even when its for the better! There has been a lot of unexpected things and surprises that have happened to me in the last few days. With that in mind, I decided to look back at unexpected changes that ended up working out in the long run, or in the near future. At that time, the unexpected change can evoke so many different emotions. Before I had gotten involved with Join Rise BE and Advocacy Unlimited I was going to move down to Florida for college, but the logistics didn’t end up working out. It was frustrating at the time, but thankfully that didn’t happen. I always wanted to help others and make a difference. I wouldn’t have been able to participate and be a focal point of the Young Adult Mental Health Recovery Movement and apart of Join Rise BE and Advocacy Unlimited. I have been able to use my story and voice to impact others. I am extremely blessed to articulate things so young adults who share similar struggles can relate, but also people who have influence on policy and procedure can empathize and have an understanding to what goes on. None of this would have taken place if I went to Florida for college and not stayed in Connecticut during the Mental Health Movement going on.
