Society has created this idea that everything has to happen at a certain age, which isn’t true at all. Some things do not happen at certain times because we were/are not ready for them to, and that’s okay. When the time is right, we will be able to achieve certain aspects of our lives. Nevertheless, if we make the choice to not go to college, buy a house, get married, or have children that doesn’t mean we are wrong in doing so either.
TurningPointCT.org was developed by young people in Connecticut who are in recovery from mental health and substance use issues. We know what it’s like to feel alone, stressed, worried, sad, and angry. We’ve lived through the ups and downs of self-harm, drugs and alcohol, and the struggle to find help.
