When dealing with trauma…

Having dealt with trauma personally, I can say that there are many things in my everyday life that cause me to go into panic mode or get unsettled more easily than I think not having gone through certain traumas would have. It’s a constant battle for me, trying to understand if I am being too sensitive or if I need to take the opportunity to understand myself better and not punish myself for feeling a certain type of way in a situation that brings back negative memories that were out of my control. I do not want to be bothered by the simplest of things, I want to be able to enjoy everything just like everyone else does. At the same time I understand that things like this take time, but I feel so tired and desperate because I don’t think my mood swings or irritability has ever gotten so far out of my control. I don’t want to be bothered my some things, and I want to find the right thing to help me feel better so that one day, I won’t be bothered by them anymore.
