SMART Recovery teen group in Bridgeport is a peer support group ran by trained facilitators. It is for people seeking support with any struggle they may have: substance abuse, anxiety, depression, bullying, fighting, etc. SMART Recovery incorporates tools based on evidence-based addiction treatments, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. This 4-point program offers specific tools and techniques for each of the program points:

Building and Maintaining Motivation

Coping with Urges

Managing thoughts, feelings, and Behaviors

Living a Balanced Life

Please note that this particular group is closed to teen clients of the Child Guidance Center. Most SMART Recovery Groups are open.
