SMART Recovery groups in Hamden are peer support groups ran by trained facilitators. It is for people seeking support with any struggle they may have: substance abuse, anxiety, depression, bullying, fighting, etc. SMART RecoveryÔ_incorporates tools based on evidence-based addiction treatments, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. SMART Recovery(R) groups are peer support groups run by trained facilitators. SMART helps you cope with struggles like substance abuse, anxiety, depression, etc. through support and skills building. You will learn tools to manage your thoughts, feelings and behaviors, will get support to make changes in your life, and will make new friends over pizza!

SMART is based on a 4-point program teaching you tools and techniques based on CBT that will help you with: Building and Maintaining Motivation; Coping with Urges; Managing Thoughts, Feelings, and Behaviors; Living a Balanced Life.
