What boosts your self-esteem?

Hi everybody! February is ‘Boost Your Self-Esteem’ Month! But if you have our calendar, then you already know that! With this month beginning to come to a close, I want to know, what do you guys do that makes you love yourself?

I think we can all list many things about ourselves we wish were different, but how many times a day do we stop and recognize how wonderful we are? Do you ever speak kindly to yourself, simply because you are an amazing person and deserve it? How often do you do something special for yourself, ‘just because’?

So, with that being said, I want to know:
1. On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your self-esteem? How high do you wish it were?
2. What are your three favorite things about yourself?
3. What are two things you do for yourself everyday?
4. What is one thing you need to do for yourself (either daily, occasionally, or just once!)?

I’ll go first:
1. I’d say my self esteem is a 6.5. I would like to get to a solid 7, then we’ll go from there!
2. I like that I’m different- I dress differently, like a lot of different music, and I draw unique things! (This used to be something I was very self-conscious about); I like that I have a lot of empathy for others; I think I’m funny! Definitely not all the time- and not always out loud haha, but I like my sense of humor and I say some pretty hilarious things in my head… so that counts!
3.I feed myself and don’t feel guilty about it! Anyone who has struggled with an eating disorder before will understand this is a big one! And I try to forgive myself for things and speak kindly to myself throughout the day.
4. I need to do more nice “self-care” things. Its hard to prioritize a hair cut or manicure with a young child (and I’ve never been the ‘nails done all the time’ type of girl), but it’s so important to treat yourself to things that feel good!!

I think my self-esteem is about a 5 or 6, I wish it were at least an 8.

    2. What are your three favorite things about yourself?
I love that I have great hair, I am funny, and I do well academically.

    3. What are two things you do for yourself everyday?
I make sure to get enough rest so that I can function throughout the day without being cranky, and I make sure to take time to relax and listen to music even if just for 5 minutes daily.

    4. What is one thing you need to do for yourself (either daily, occasionally, or just once!)?
One thing I need to do for myself is develop a better inner dialogue. I tend to be pretty mean to myself within my own mind, and I need to work on that.

Thanks for posting about this and making me think about the things that I need to work on! 🙂

I’d say I’m about a 7! I use to be at like a 4.. but I have done a lot in the past few years to raise this number I’m good with being at a 7 right now.

    2. What are your three favorite things about yourself?
My personality, my caring heart, and my eyes.

    3. What are two things you do for yourself everyday?
I listen to music for atleast a half hour which clears my mind. I give myself time to wake up in the morning and relax a bit before the day.

    4. What is one thing you need to do for yourself (either daily, occasionally, or just once!)?
I need to tell myself it’s okay to say no.. and give myself that option everyday.

Hello all! I love this idea! I love the way that we are positively thinking about ourselves. It’s inspirational.
    1. On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your self-esteem? How high do you wish it were?
My self-esteem is generally an 8 or so. I am happy with that. I have come so far in terms of my self-esteem and my self worth. An 8 has far surpassed any rating I could have imagined.
    2. What are your three favorite things about yourself?
I love that I am kind to everyone I meet, I love that I have an extensive Harry Potter knowledge, and I love that I am working hard toward my number one dream of being a teacher.
    3. What are two things you do for yourself everyday?
Every day I get a tea in the morning to start out my day. It’s like a cup of happiness. Also, I make sure to eat three meals a day- sometimes it’s not always an idea meal but at least I am eating.
    4. What is one thing you need to do for yourself (either daily, occasionally, or just once!)?
I need to work on my motivation- I am working towards being more motivated to get work done every day. I need to have less lazy days. Any suggestions??

I don’t even know the answer to that. I am so busy that I don’t even think about it. I just can’t let it slow me down.
Maybe that is the answer for me. Just keep moving and stay productive.

I like that, “keep moving and stay productive”.. I try to do that, but it gets tough sometimes, especially on days where the symptoms of my depression and anxiety are acting up!

My determination, my hair, and my smile
