The other day I was thinking about how long I could go without my phone. I think I may have went 2 hours without checking it.. and then was tempted to check. This got me thinking about what are the things in my life that I literally would not want to live without which brings me to this topic.
My most prized possessions: (I have two, couldn’t list just one)
1. Snow babies. Not sure if people really know what that is, but it’s like a winter/Christmas ordainment. My mom and I used to go to these craft fairs and collect them. Now I have a few of my own and a few from my childhood, I love them so much.
2. My photo album. I have photos of my childhood. One of the only things that I got out of my house before I was put in foster care.
What is your most prized possession?

My most prized possession is my necklace. It was my maternal grandmothers necklace and it was passed down to me. My hair used to always get caught and tangled in it growing up so she always told me that one day it would be mine. It’s a gold necklace with a heart, anchor, and cross on it. It means the world to me and I never take it off (she never did either)

Hey Torry! And Ally! I think my most prized possession will always be the necklace I received from my grandmother after she’d passed away- so funny that Ally and I both have that in common.
Her necklace is a gold heart with diamonds on it. I used to sit on her lap and say, “Are these real diamonds??” and she would laugh and say, “I HOPE SO!”
When she died, it was her one possession that I’d asked for. I keep it so safe and wear it when I need her presence.

I feel like my necklace is definitely my most prized possession as well. I started off with just having a gold cross with the “our father in heaven: prayer written on it in Spanish, but it has definitely evolved. I have turned it into a charm necklace, and I have something from almost everyone close to me on it. I have a wooden bead from my best friend’s dreads, I have a New York Yankees logo charm from my dad, a baseball from my aunt, and a ring from my dear friend. I hope to keep ading new things to be able to keep those who are important to me close to my heart! 🙂

My most prized possession is the tin of my mother’s ashes. Each year that my mother has been gone I have decorated it with something like a sticker that had meaning to me, a picture from a birthday, a picture I colored in remembrance of her or once I got older special quotes that reminded me of her or phrases I remember her saying. She passed away when I was seven years old and because I was so young my family held onto them especially as I went into the foster care system so that I would not lose them. On the signing of my lease of 5 years, (July 2016) my aunt gave me the tin and it was quite emotional for me. It was nice to finally have the ashes with me but even more so I was overcome with love I had for my mother when I looked at all of the things I decorated her tin with.

I would have to say my most prized possessions would have to be my smart phone and my wallet. I literally never leave the door without them. I honestly can’t even remember the last time I haven’t had them on me lol. I guess that’s just called being an adult in this generation. Although they are my prized possessions it would be nice to just go one day without worrying about my phone and my wallet, just spend the day living like a kid again. I remember being a child and going out to play with my friends without having anything in my pockets. I was living life freely. I wasn’t constantly checking my pockets making sure I didn’t lose my phone and wallet. My car keys are another one. I always have to keep checking my pockets to make sure I didn’t lose those either. I’ll make this my goal to go at least one day without my prized possessions.
