I have struggled since I was 13 to follow through with just about everything. I watched my parents bail on every family event, they never did what they said they would, and always let people down. I had wished many times to never follow their path, unfortunately it just happened to have followed me..
These past two years I have worked so hard on following through with what I say. I had quit on many things, people and actually myself for awhile.
But, Friday I graduated from Recovery University with a certification as a Recovery Support Specialists. This is the first time in years that I committed myself to school or class, and actually stuck with it.
I am so happy that I did this for myself.

Congratulations Torry! Good for you! Can you explain what Recovery University is all about?
That is right Torry im happy for you accomplishment, thankfull that we all got through this because somtimes people fall off and think that life is has nothing to live for but when you have a bunch of great people supporting you and telling you that you can is alot helpfull.
Following through with things is something I can be really sensitive about too. My parents never followed through with anything when I was growing up so I now live in this place where I never expect anyone will actually follow through with what they’ve said but it’s also necessary that they do if we’re going to have any sort of relationship.
Interestingly enough, I’ve also noticed that I’ve gotten worse about following through with things as I’ve gotten better. There’s something that deserves some more processing.

I am beyond proud of you and am very happy I personally got the chance to see you achieve your goal and become a Recovery Support Specialist. I definitely understand what it feels like to quit or not follow through on multiple things because I have been in that position on multiple occasions. Being able to take these classes, learn, and achieve this goal together has meant the world to me and it goes to show that anyone can do anything they want when they truly decide to stick to it. Motivation and dedication are key roles and play a huge factor in accomplishing any goal, but once you have your mind set on something, you can truly obtain anything in life.
