Tomorrow April 27 is Poem in Your Pocket Day.

On Poem in Your Pocket Day, it is part of our annual National Poetry Month celebration, (United States and Canada) to carry a poem and share it with others throughout the day.

Pocket your favorite poems, carry, and share them tomorrow at our meeting in Norwalk at Café Aroma, 55 Wall Street. Corner of Isaac Road (Road that leads to Garden Cinema).

    Meeting time: 10 .a.m.

I think this is a very interesting thing to try to do, but something I would totally try to engage myself in. Seeing as how I just noticed the post at this time I cannot attend the meeting, but I still want to do the aspect of picking a poem and carrying it with me so that I can share it with others throughout the remainder of the day. I think I will be able to relay a specific type of message that can alter a person’s mood entirely depending on the type of poem I pick to repeatedly share, so I think it will be really cool! Thanks for sharing this great idea!

    Hi Luz,

You are always welcome to join us. We had a great time yesterday, in fact, I wrote a poem based on a similar image to the one below:

Life Descends upon this near-barren land
Of space, time, distance, shape and form.
Here I become, to face my dreadful fears
With a world cast around me
    Of Vague thoughts, distant memories
Of what I dread asleep or awake

I am destined to make of this what I can,
    With what I have,
    …What I may.
For this life seems but a ray of light
That escapes from the dark sky
    By chance
And thus by chance, I justify my being.
