“EnvisionFest Hartford debuted in 2012 as Connecticut’s Capital City Festival, an event featuring over 100 free events, activities, and performances. This event was created to showcase Hartford’s abundance of history, arts, extraordinary cultural wealth and its tradition of innovation. The idea was to provide an opportunity for people of all ages to discover and celebrate the capital city through live entertainment and hands-on activities, including music and dramatic performances on six stages, free admission to more than eight museums, landmark building tours and lawn games in Bushnell Park. Held on the same weekend as the Discover Hartford Bike Tour and Riverfront Recapture’s Pipes in the Valley, it highlighted the city and all of its treasures to over 15,000 visitors.

Each step taken or pedal pushed at EnvisionFest Hartford led to new discoveries by visitors to the city, both new and old. Attendees were given an opportunity to experience the ongoing transformation taking place in Hartford that are part of The iQuilt Plan and its transformative GreenWalk. Visitors can see the city and the scenic riverfront come alive with music, art and science – not just on the date of EnvisionFest – but every day.

As work on the iQuilt Plan progresses, so will the livability, sustainability and economic vitality of downtown Hartford.”
