I once saw a picture that stated hope meant “hold on, pain ends.” As this may be true for some, I do understand that this may not be accurate for everyone. In my personal experience, hope is that invisible string that keeps me attached to the rest of the world and keeps me motivated and fighting for what it is I believe in and want for myself in this world. It’s like I am on one side, my destiny is on the other, and the only thing that connects us is a fine line- that is hope to me. Hope is my lifeline, my savior, my motivation and means of survival. What does hope mean and do for you?
TurningPointCT.org was developed by young people in Connecticut who are in recovery from mental health and substance use issues. We know what it’s like to feel alone, stressed, worried, sad, and angry. We’ve lived through the ups and downs of self-harm, drugs and alcohol, and the struggle to find help.

For me, hope is the opportunity to have my dreams come through… to overcome the obstacles that may come my way and to do what I really want to do.
Hope is the motivation to keep going to get to a better place.
For me personally hope means being able to imagine a better future for myself but more importantly actually believe it’s possible.
