Hey guys! On Tuesday I got to go back to my old high school (well, one of them!! Haha), Staples High School in Westport. I was at their Grim Reality Day, which is a wellness day right before Prom and the end of the school year that focuses on educating the students about drinking and driving, substance use, mental health and breaking down stigma! Its a fun day, but so important because we know how easy it is to feel alone in your struggle in High School. This day brings students, teachers, and outside resurces together to remind students that they are NOT alone and that help is out there and always available.
This year was awesome! It’s my second year attending for TurningPointCT.org and I’m so happy to get the chance to have fun with students and talk about wellness.
TAG, Teen Awareness Group organizes the event, and they are so awesome.
So, TAG, Staples, and everyone else who was at Grim Reality, THANK YOU!! You ROCK so much!! I’m so happy to know some of the TAG and Staples high school students.
TurningPointCT.org was developed by young people in Connecticut who are in recovery from mental health and substance use issues. We know what it’s like to feel alone, stressed, worried, sad, and angry. We’ve lived through the ups and downs of self-harm, drugs and alcohol, and the struggle to find help.
