Hi guys! There is an upcoming RSS course this September in Avon, CT!
Do you know what an RSS is? Well, I’m gonna tell you…
An RSS is a Recovery Support Specialist, which is a person in recovery who uses their lived experience, in addition to training, to help support other people who are struggling. The only requirements are that you have lived experience and that you’re willing to use it to help others. Advocacy Unlimited runs the training, and I did it this past Spring!
It’s a great way to learn how to use your own experience to help others and is a certification that you can use to get a job as a Recovery Support Specialist!
If this sounds cool, check this out!
Advocacy Unlimited will be holding a RSS Training starting September 10 in Avon, CT!
The training lasts 5 weeks and will meet Monday and Wednesdays from 5-9 PM

TurningPointCT.org was developed by young people in Connecticut who are in recovery from mental health and substance use issues. We know what it’s like to feel alone, stressed, worried, sad, and angry. We’ve lived through the ups and downs of self-harm, drugs and alcohol, and the struggle to find help.
