Whether it’s middle school, high school or college, most of us are getting started with the school year or fall semester in the next couple of weeks. For me, I start school next Tuesday, August 27th. I am both very excited and nervous because I am transitioning from a community college to a state university, and therefore going from a building that had literally EVERYTHING in one building to a campus that is like a mile or so huge! I went to orientation and love the family-like vibes of the school, am looking forward to getting involved with different clubs, sports, and organizations, and am mostly just happy that I’ve made it to this point in my recovery journey to say I’m halfway to my bachelor’s in social work. 🙂
How are any of you guys feeling about the upcoming school year? Are you excited or nervous about any particular classes? Would you like to share any classes you may be taking? We want to know it all! 🙂
How was your first day? I had a very bad day lol. I feel very isolated at CCSU. I think all of the people there are apart of the same subculture (preppy and sporty) and it makes it pretty easy to feel lonely.
Hey! My first day was okay. I feel like It’s a very big school and scene to get accustomed to but I’m getting used to it and am no longer getting lost. I appreciate that there are a lot of things to do to socialize outside of class time, like sporting events and block parties and such so I can meet new people, but I definitely understand what you mean about the general feel of the peeps there. I think it will get easier as the semester keeps going, keep pushing!
