    Torry,

Thank you so much for sharing this article with us. It was definitely inspiring to see, and it literally gave me goosebumps to watch the video. It is unfortunate that this transformational movement had to begin after such a tragedy for this family, but I am very glad to see that doing so has helped them in their healing process. I agree with Jordan’s parents when they emphasize the importance of including mental health education within a high school educational curriculum because this will allow students to gain knowledge about things that they may be struggling with but may also be a way to show them that it’s okay to reach out for help. I feel like if something like mental health is taught in public schools everywhere, there wouldn’t be so much stigma surrounding it because it’s being discussed more commonly and openly.

Wow, thanks for sharing Torry. I think young people commiting suicide is becoming an ‘epidemic’. Suicide affects so so many people, and to imagine a young person taking their life to escape the feelings and experiences they’re having, which will one day change, breaks my heart. My first suicide attempt was when I was twelve, and since then I have survived multiple suicide attempts, some of which were very serious and could have taken my life. I could have never imagined at that time in my life that things would one day change for the better and that I would learn to love my life; struggles and all.
Thankfully these two parents are doing something both incredible and extraordinarily important.
