After seven years and eighteen trials on many SSRIs, antipsychotics and mood stabilizers, I have successfully tapered off of these medications. I am incredibly hesitant when thinking about what medications I ingest. This is because of the several suicide attempts that likely resulted from the types and dosages that the various psychiatrists recommended. Since waning off of these medications, I have experienced tardive dyskinesia, amnesia and kidney problems.
