This is awful news. It’s scary because I’m exactly the same age as him. Although I feel for his family and fans, I can’t help but get frustrated with society’s reaction to his death. So many people are expressing how important it is to help someone struggling with addiction and whatnot, yet the same people that say that about this celebrity, are ones that condemn people in their own family or neighborhood. At least that has been my experience on my social media timeline.
I truly hope that this can help open the hearts of people who shame addicts and their families. A celebrity or a high school friend are both human and deserve to be supported despite their status.

We know what it’s like to feel alone, stressed, worried, sad, and angry. We’ve lived through the ups and downs of self-harm, drugs and alcohol, and the struggle to find help.
